VALENTINE'S DAY OUTFIT GUIDE
Hey girl! Hope you are having a great week so far. I am currently in the air on my way to New Jersey for a work trip this weekend! It just now dawned on me that Valentine’s Day is coming up next week. I don’t know about you but I am always looking for outfit ideas for this time of year. Honestly, Aaron and I keep it pretty low key for Valentine’s Day but before we got together, I would always go out with my girlfriends and have some fun! And that’s why I wanted to do this post for you on Valentine’s Day outfit inspo, no matter what your plans are! I rounded up some of my favorite pieces that are not only perfect for V-Day but also take you into spring. :)
This post is for you if you’re…
Going out for a casual dinner with your partner
Having a cozy night with your true BFF, yourself
Hitting up the newest restaurant with your girls
Dressing up and going to a nice dinner
GIRLY + FLIRTY
If you’re someone who isn’t afraid of a little color, this outfit is for you! I love a little pop of color wether it be for Valentine’s Day or to celebrate the fact that we survived the winter. I went for a pastel pink top that hits the three F’s for spring: fun, flirty + feminine! I love the fit on this because it’s flowy, so nice and comfortable, but has tons of detail with the peplum and bubble sleeve. The cut on this is so flattering too! I Not to mention this material feels like butter! I paired it with my favorite pair of Topshop jeans and brown booties keeping it casual and fun. This would also be a great option if you have day plans too! Light, airy and gets you ready for the new season ahead. I will link everything below so if you see something you like, feel free to click on the item and it will take you right there! I have a feeling I’m going to be wearing this outfit on repeat :)
CASUAL CHIC
If you’ve been following me on IG then you know my obsession with maxi cardigans is REAL. I think they are something so simple that really takes your outfit up a notch! It’s no surprise that I loved this cardigan because these colors are SO fun. They give a good pop of color but nothing too overwhelming or bright. I love a good neutral tone and this one is full of them! The material is super lightweight so it will be perfect to take into spring when the weather warms up. I mean, how cute would this be with a pair of jean shorts in the summer?! I don’t want to get too ahead of myself haha so for now I just paired it with a simple white bodysuit, dark distressed denim and heeled mules to add a little height! I had a lot of girls say this was one of their fav pieces I’ve shared on my try on hauls in a while and for good reason! I recommend sizing up to the M/L in this if you want more of a cozy fit.
DRESSED TO IMPRESS
Ok now if you are looking to dress to impress then this outfit is for YOU girl! This is something I usually wouldn’t reach for because it is a little bold for me but I am so glad I did. I don’t have anything like it and I am already thinking of so many places I am going to wear this to. If you have a fancy dinner planned with your partner or maybe going out with the girls, this is perfect! I love the blush color, perfect for spring and the detail on this dress is so beautiful. I feel like there’s a ton of feminine details to this with the slight ruffles and pleats but the print makes it a bit edgy too! Since I am only 5’2, the dress was a little long on me so I added a black belt and scrunched the material over that to make it a bit shorter. But if you are someone who likes longer dresses OR you are over 5’5 this length is perfect! I paired it was my go to black strappy heels from Target but if you wanted a more casual/edgy look, grab a pair of white tennis shoes or black booties! I think I am going to wear this to a wedding I have this spring :)
COMFORT IS KEY
Now I know what you’re thinking. Amara, this is cute and all but I have a cozy night planned with me, myself and I. Oh, and Netflix! Then don’t worry, I got you. Usually Aaron and I keep it pretty casual so I am with you on this one. I always reach for a cropped sweatshirt and a pair of joggers! That way I can wear the sweatshirt with leggings or denim if I want to go out and grab takeout OR stay cozy with sweatpants. Let’s be real, no one wants to sit on their couch with a cute top on and a bra haha that is the first thing I take off when I walk in my door. Anyone else with me on that? This way, you can skip the outfit stress and spend more time binging on your fav show! If you want to add a little something extra, I would reach for a cute headband or my favorite “super scrunchie” to keep your hair out of your face! I will link my go to’s below.
Alright girl, there you have it. My favorite outfits and pieces for Valentine’s Day that will also take you into spring! There are so many ways to wear these pieces and I can’t wait to restyle them on IG next month. I am all about wearing something multiple ways! Spoiler alert, I’m not made of money so I have to maximize as much as possible haha. If you guys have any questions about sizing or how to style these pieces, shoot me a message on IG and I’d love to help.
Remember, you don't need to be a model to look and feel amazing nor do you have to spend big bucks to do so. All you need is a little confidence and a killer shade of lipstick!
